Hi Ms Hue,
Many thanks for your email. We very much enjoyed the trip - and will certainly contact you if we plan another trip to Vietnam! I'm back in Europe now, missing Vietnamese weather, food and cycling! 12 - 15 May 2013
Best regards, Pieter
Hi Vietnam Backroads,
Yes - now safely back in the UK. Although there was some snow on the ground when we arrived home last weekend the temperature has just warmed up here and it is now slightly warmer than it was on our first day in Hanoi (17 degrees)!!

Hello Ms Hue
I hope you are keeping well. Sadly, I am backing home now after my wonderful holiday in Vietnam.
My wife and I very much enjoyed the Vietnam Backroads bicycle tour in the Mekong Delta - in fact it was the highlight of our time in Vietnam. Everything was very well organized and our guide took us to parts of the country that we would never have seen otherwise. To have a chance to get so close to people in the villages and those farming the rice fields was an unforgettable experience, as was the beautiful scenery that we got to enjoy. Our support vehicle and excellent driver were always on hand with drinks and cold towels, which were very welcome after a hot day in the saddle! I would highly recommend Vietnam Backroads to others. Thanks for everything and all the best for the future. 24 - 27 Mar 2013
Wonderful part of our vacation! Very well organized with great flexibility. This tour was in combination with the start in Cambodia. It was hotter and dustier in Cambodia and the guide, Chanra was great. Vietnam was cooler and greener and our guides. Huy was also great. I love it all and appreciate the attention to detail. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

This was the highlight of my trip Harry adjusted the length of our biking to fit our needs(and chose great areas) we also requested vegetarian food, he was so gracious about finding the right places, dishes for us. Everything about the tour- the biking, food, hotels, driver, guide etc… was much better than I could have dreamed. I will definitely be back!

Loved the bike tour. Huy was a great guide – very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. He made sure that we had plenty of food and water and local treats. I would have preferred a different hotel uncomfortable beds, no windows, but did not affect our trip overall.
I would recommend Vietnam Backroads and especially Huy!
Megan: Huy was a great guide! He made the trip easy. His English is excellent and he is very knowledgeable on the history and culture of Vietnam, At some times he went a little too fast for me to keep up with but other than that it was a great four day trip! 2 - 5 Jan 2013
Miss Hanh and Mr Khoa are overseas Vietnameses "Do, Hannah" <Hannah.Do@team.telstra.com>
Fantastic way for us to see North to South Vietnam and good as we are Vietnamese we got to see the non tourist sites and more local life. The staff – tour guide & and driver are very friendly and professional. We will definitely do more with the tours and recommend to our friends to try.
Thanks you very much for a great experience. 17 - 30 Dec 2012
I will blog about this tour on http://www.hannahdo.com/

Trip was fantastic! Tour guides and staff were excellent. Hotel Happy Light in Nha Trang was below expectation due to poor bath rooms and room maintenance faucets.
No pressure to buy anything (tourist staff) was good. 17 - 30 Dec 2012
Dear Ms Hue,
From Nha Trang we went to Hon Ong, where we spent three days before returning to Ho Chi Minh City and back home a week ago. In Sweden we have plenty of snow and a crisp -18 degrees celsius (see attached photos). I guess every country and climate has its own charm...
Back to your question about the tour - We are very happy with our four day bicycle tour!! Phuc was a very good guide who made sure the biking and pace was up to our capacity. He made sure to stop to point out interesting things and enable us to take photos of views, coffee, tea, pepper and banana plantations. He made sure we had snacks and drink stops along the road. We got to stop and meet friendly people along the road. He took us to genuine and very good eating places and was all-over very friendly!!
Hoang - our driver - was also very good. He was a skilled and very careful driver and we always felt safe with him behind the wheel. He was also very attentive and made sure we had water along the road, sheered us on and took care to wipe our eating sticks and plates when having meals. The trip was perfect for us - a mix of national park, jungle, farmland and back roads and with a one day stopover and sightseeing in Dalat. The fairly rough accomodation in Nam Cat Tien and the very good accomodation in Dalat was a good combination. We always felt very safe and we definitely had our share of adventure and sightseeing.
I cannot enough express how happy we are with our biking with Vietnam Backroads Bicycle Tours. This was the best way to experience Vietnam!! We will sure recommend you to everyone who might be interested!! I can honestly not think of anything that could have been different - not even the rainy day we had between Dalat and Nha Trang.
Kind regards..and please extend our praise to Phuc and Hoang as well!!

Mr Harald:
Having injured my back just prior to the bike tour, Van & Harry were very helpful providing much assistance, taking me to hospital for an X- Ray an
to see a doctor.
A motorbike was arranged to me to experience the bike tour off the beate track with my family and friends. It was still a memorable and enjoyable experience. Different countryside everyday. Friendly people along the way. Very tasty, generous lunch and dinner in all food locations. All in all a great experience and we will recommend to all our friends back home.
Thanks Van & Harry
The condition of the first hotel was not four stars. It was the least enjoyable part of the trip.
The guide was knowledgeable, efficient and chose excellent routes. He kept the trip very well organized and accommodates our needs. It has been an excellent trip so far. Thanks you and best wishes in the New Year. 31 Dec 2012 - 09 Jan 2013
Many hotel were excellent, but some were just okay. I will send an email specifies.
We LOVED our cycling trip! Phuc was a helpful, fun and knowledgeable guide. He helped with everything & made the experience exciting and fun. Mr My was a conscientious and skilled driver( cooking lessons in Hoi An, clothing tailor, squid rolls on the beach, barbecued goat in the mountains, coconuts of the tree!) He ever help us get a resort room for after the trip ended. The best…! 23 Dec 2012 - 05 Jan 2013
Hi Van
Mr Nghi is an excellent guide. He meets us every day with a smile and was available at all times. He’s an excellent cyclist and always ready for a hard & challenging ride. He was attentive to our needs and accommodating to special requests. Our driver Thao is also a very good driver, very safe and always prompt. He also kept the van very clean and supplied with drinks. The quality of the food choice overall was excellent. Some of our very best meals were arranged by Mr Nghi in small villages for our lunches and gave us a great insight into the culture. If we had any constructive feedback, maybe the van could sometimes be closer on long rides and maybe the guides could be supplied with modem mapping technology like GPS or smart phones, for the most efferent routing and use of time. This is one of the best trip we have ever taken and our first bike tour, and we are extremely happy with experience. We have many wonderful memories and photos. We would highly recommend Vietnam Backroads to our friends. We are already looking forward to our next trip with Vietnam Backroads. 24 Dec 2012 - 04 Jan 2013
Hi Van
Thank you so much for the best holiday. The food was fantastic, probably a little too much at times I haven't lost any weight after cycling 700 kms. The accommodation was above the standard I expected especially for the one night stays.
The organisational side of things was excellent running like clockwork. The staff you employed went out of their way to help and make sure we had water, food, were comfortable on our bikes, we were very spoilt.
Our truck driver was there all the time filling water bottles getting us food. Our bus driver (Hi - not sure how to spell it) was running after us making sure we had everything we needed and his driving was exceptional. Ican't praise Bobby and Nghi enough they made the trip a wonderful experience, it was hard to leave we felt they were part of our group.

*FOR NEXT YEAR*
I would like to organise another trip for 2013, doing the Mekong Delta/ Phu Quoc Island area because that would be completely different to what we have seen. Just a couple of questions - what month do you think we should do the Mekong Delta - I will aim to get about 12 people again and we would look at flying in on the Saturday to Ho Chi Min and starting the trip on the Sunday - then flying out 14 days later on the Saturday Night, I think that was a great way to see everything and the flights were easy from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh.
On this trip we wouldn't do the guided tours of temples etc and would be looking more at country side and villages.
Any help and advice you can give me would be great. Not sure if anyone found a bike seat left in the bus, not a problem if they haven't but Debbie thinks she left it behind.
Thanks again and please thank your wonderful guides and drivers for us - maybe they can all do the next trip with us, that would be good.
We have really enjoyed our 3 days of cycling in the Mekong Delta - even more than we expected. Our guide, Harry was fantastic and made our trip even more enjoyable with his charm, memory and good English.
We have now had a 2 weeks holiday in Vietnam with many good and interesting experiences - but the cycling trip was the the best ! The icing on the cake in what has been a fabulous holiday. Thank you very much

Dear Vietnam Backroads,
Many thanks for a fantastic trip, I have to say it was one of the best experiences of our whole trip. Thang was an excellent guide - very knowlegeable. The driver was lovely too.
I am emailing to ask i could buy a Vietnam Backroads jersey, I saw our guide Thang wearing one. I would like to wear it at my cycling club back in the UK!
I am in Saigon for one night staying at Captown hotel tomorrow (22nd November) an sign out 23rd to fly back to the uk. I am Medium size (same as Thang).
Would it be possible to get a jersey to the Captown hotel for me?
Many thanks. 14th - 17th Nov 2012
Dear Miss Hue,
we are back again in Germany and again very busy in our companies. We enjoyed very much your country and especially the bike-ride in the Mekong Delta. The tour was very interesting and we saw a lot. Mr. Trung was a very good guide and we could ask him everything. He has knowledge about almost everything, so we could ask a lot.
Everything worked good, the paths we were riding were fascinating and the distances were not too hard. So we can recommend Vietnam Backroads. Especially the Ba Duc homestay, which Mr. Trung recommended, was very nice. Please say thank you to him.
The hotels were really good with exceptional of stay at The Long hotels which was average.Food was good though. Great mix of local cuisine and good to eat at local restaurants. Hoang was a good guide and very helpful, looked after us well and our driver was excellent too. We always felt safe with him behind the wheels. It was good that the bike riding was flexible for our abilities. We will recommend this tour to our friends.
06 - 14 Nov 2012.
Hi Van,
Overall our trip was well organized although it was very late booking. All of us enjoined every minute of our trip and would love to come back to do another bike trip with Vietnam Backroads Bicycle Tours.

Ms. Hue,
My sister and I just got home after our month-long travels in Southeast Asia. We had an amazing trip!
We really enjoyed our experience with Vietnam Backroads Bicycle Tours. Our guide, Nghi, and driver, Mr. Loc, picked us up promptly from our hotel in Ha Tien. Mr. Nghi showed us how to adjust the bicycles and then we were off on our adventure! The bicycle tour was a great way to experience the Mekong Delta. We biked through many villages and saw the surrounding countryside that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. It was an eye-opening experience as we biked through villages and greeted the local people- many of whom had not seen a foreigner in a long time. We would highly recommend Vietnam Backroads Bicycle Tours!
We would suggest that drinks be included in the price of the tour for lunches and dinners. Also, if it would be possible to set up payment through credit card on your website that would be a lot easier than the hassle of the money transfer.

Hello Vietnam Backroads Bicycle Tours,
We are back in the flatlands, in Holland. We have wonderful memories of our trip in Vietnam, we are very happy about the holiday. This was the first time we were on a biking holiday and we were very impressed by the smooth organisation of Vietnam Backroads. We are very happy about every aspect of the holiday and don't know anything we are not happy - not even when we think very hard on it.
To be specific we are very happy about:
- the information before the trip (website, e-mails, adjustments on standard program).
- the bikes were of high quality and well maintained.
To be honest we were a bit worried about it in advance as it is so important for the quality of the trip. Even when the bike size was not correct for me on the first day it was solved the next day with a larger framesize.
- the mechanical skills of Van and Trang. They continously optimized the bikes for us.
- the routes and the maps by Van - they were really the backroads of Vietnam and we never had to bike on the busy and dangerous highways. The routes were easily adapted to the circumstances (longer or shorter trip). Combined with the mechanical skills this is for us the most unique features of this company.
- the chosen hotels. The only hotel which fell al little out of tune was the one in Hanoi.
- the information Trang gave to us about the history and culture of Vietnam.
- the safe driving of Mr. Huang. In a way we were always happy to see him as we knew that he would have fresh water and fruits for us ready. During transfers we felt always very safe.
One advice for booking the flight tickets: ask for the names as given in the pasports, since a change can cause problems at in checking for the flights. Another thing is that one request for not taking any more pictures of your guests should have been enough, and three requests is too many. We're happy to recommand your company to anyone who wants to cycle in Vietnam. We're certainly to return to your company one day to have another trip in Vietnam or Cambodia.
Best regards, 23 May 2012. Biking video clip
