Cat Ba is a 140 square kilometer island in Ha Long Bay, northern Vietnam. It is commonly used as an overnight hotel stop to HaLong Bay. Cat Ba is the largest island in the bayand approximately half of its area is covered by a National Park.  The park is a must see, andis home to the highly endangered cat known as,  Ba Langur.

Hoa Lu is the ancient capital. The remains are the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the two heroes who lived in 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build its capital. Tam Coc is an awesome site of giant limestone karst formations jutting out of the rice paddies that surround the Ngo Dong River about 9km southwest of Ninh Binh, North Vietnam.
