Enjoy a boat ride to Chau Doc town and ride through Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh, formerly Saigon capital. The following days, visiting Dalta city and biking on coastal roads to middle of Vietnam. The temples of Angkor, now partially restored, constitute the premier collection of Khmer art and architecture. The Citadel is a square enclosure with a circumference of 10,000 m, a height of 6.6 m and a thickness of about 21 cm. The center of the wall is packed with dirt while the outer shell is built with bricks. There are ten gates to access the Citadel each with a two story watch tower. The gates are named according to their direction of exit. The southeastern gate is also known as Thuong Tu gate, The Eastern gate is also called Cua Dong Ba etc. The Citadel was built to accommodate 24 bastions with over 400 canons.
Ha Long Bay has attracted tons of tourists every year. Ha Long Bay has more than 1000 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. Get on board and cruise for 4 hours on this "Bay of the Dragon descending to the sea", as it is knows by locals. The Bay holds over 1,600 islands and islets. There are caves and grottoes, with stalactites and stalagmites. Its limestone pillars are a unique natural feature of great scenic beauty and biological interest. Day 01: Siem Reap – Angkor by bike (B/L/D) (30 km)
Begin of the first day of cycling to Angkor Complex, visit Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon templeDay 02: Siem Reap – Tonle Sap – Kampong Chhnang (B/L/D) (25 km)
In morning, ride 25 km to Tonle Sap, enjoy a boat ride crossing Tonle Sap to Kampong Chhnang. During the boat trip, you will be visit floating, fishing villages. The city of Kampong Chnang located by Tonle Sap and it famous for its clay pots. Check in and explore the town in the afternoon. Overnight in town
Day 03: Kampong Chhnang – Udong – Phnom Penh (B/L/D) (90 km)Check out, and start cycling on country roads through colorful pagodas and traditional villages. Cycle past rocky mountains to Udong. The ancient capital of the latter stages of the Khmer Empire and crowning site of the king is located 40 km north of Phnom Penh. Udong offers spectacular views of the surrounding country and the innumerable sugar palm trees that punctuate the countryside. Have lunch in Udong, in the afternoon, continue cycling to Phnom Penh.
Day 04: Phnom Penh – Chau Doc (B/L) (no cycling)
Enjoy a morning city tour, visit the Royal Palace of Cambodia, and go shopping at the central market. Head back to the hotel for check out. Take a short transfer to the Mekong River, then relax on a high speed boat, downstream to Chau Doc, Vietnam. Arrival in Chau Doc pier in the late afternoon. Overnight in Chau Doc
Day 05: Chau Doc – Can Tho (B/L/D) (80 km)
After breakfast, we leave for the floating houses on the upper Mekong river by boat where we can see plenty of catfish and red snappers breeding under right their houses. What is an amazing life! Then keep boating to visit the Cham village with about 12,000 people who are weaving sarongs and hats by hands in keeping with their ancestral tradition. Back to the hotel for check out and a short transfer out of the smuggling town of Chau Doc. Start biking to Long Xuyen city, crossing the rice bowl of Vietnam. After lunch, transfer to Can Tho
Option:
Start cycling from Chau Doc town, cycle on rural roads along Vinh Te canals to Ba Chuc killing field in Tri Ton where Pon Pot regime massacred over 3,000 Vietnamese in 1978. This section of cycling will be a challenge as you cycle on hilly back roads near the Sam mountain. Then continue cycling to Long Xuyen. Have an hour and half transfer to Can Tho
Day 06: Can Tho – Cai Be - Saigon (B/L/) (55 km)
Enjoy a boat ride to Cai Rang floating market in early morning, then back to hotel for breakfast and check out. Transfer for an hour to Vinh Long. From Vinh Long, we take a public ferry to An Binh Island. Bike on country roads along river to Dong Phu village. Then, take another ferry boat to Cai Be town, continue cycling to one of the ancient house for lunch. After lunch, ride on trails to the countryside of Cay Lay, then transfer to Saigon
Day 07: A half day to Cu Chi (B/L) (no cycling)
Have a half-day in the morning to Cu Chi tunnels by van/bus, then rest of the day free time to explore Ho Chi Minh city in the afternoon. This is the site of the Cu Chi tunnels, one of the most famous battlegrounds of the Vietnam War. Today it is one of the country's prime tourist attractions, part of a new industry of war tourism. Sometimes, these spots seem to be memorials to wartime propaganda as much to the war itself. Following the man in green fatigues, the tourists arrive at an open-sided hut, where the women in black show them to their seats. There, on a big-screen television set, the Vietnam War plays on: B-52's drop strings of bombs, villagers run for cover, communist guerrillas fight back. Free to explore Saigon by your own in the evening.Option: free for shopping by your own time.
Day 08: Saigon – Dalat (B/L/D) (30 km)
Enjoy a morning drive through bustling Saigon and the industrial parks of Dong Nai province to Bao Loc, the homeland to coffee tree and green tea plantations. Lunch en route, continue driving to Dalat city after lunch. On arrival in Dalat around 1:30 pm. Cycle 30 km on back roads through vegetable and flower gardens. Overnight in Dalat
Day 09: Dalat – Nha Trang (B/L/D) (100 km)
Ride rolling hills through Truong Son mountain range and downhill to Nha Trang. Ride past Khanh Vinh, Vien Khanh ancient town. Late afternoon, transfer 40 minutes to hotel. Overnight in Nha Trang
Day 10: Nha Trang – Qui Nhon (B/L/D) (100 km)
Transfer for 2 1/2 hours to Tuy An, Chi Thanh. Ride on back roads through sugar cane plantations and rice fields, have a picnic lunch at Van Canh. Arrive in Qui Nhon in the afternoon. Option: Transfer to Dai Lanh beach, ride along coastal roads to Tuy Hoa. Have lunch before transfer to Qui Nhon
Day 11: Qui Nhon – Quang Ngai (B/L/D) (80 km)
Begin to ride on the coastal roads of Qui Nhon, riding through fishing villages and many beautiful resorts along the ocean. Have lunch at Binh Duong, continue riding on country roads through beautiful villages with large coconut gardens and ride fields amongst mountain area. Keep riding to Tam Quang and transfer to Quang Ngai in late afternoon.
Day 12: Quang Ngai – Hoi An (B/L/D) (80 km)
Have breakfast at the hotel, and start to ride to the memorial park of My Lai village. Visit Thien An pagoda and a short visit My Lai village, the massacre of more than 500 locals in 1969. Continue riding to Chau O for lunch. in the afternoon, cycle from Tam Ky to Hoian on country roads along the ocean. Crossing Thu Bon river to Hoian on back roads. Overnight in Hoi An
Day 13: Hoi An – My Son (B/L/) (40 km)
Ride from Hoi An to visit My Son, the capital on Champa Kingdom. Stop to visit Thanh Ha ceramic & pottery factory before riding on My Son. Transfer back to Hoi An for lunch. In the afternoon, spend free time for shopping until attending a cooking class in the evening. Stay one more night in Hoi An.Option: free for shopping in town
Day 14: Hoi An-Hue (B/L/D) (100 km)
Van/bus takes you out of Hoi An, where we have time to warm up before we start to pedal uphill to the peak of Hai Van pass. After a few kilometers downhill ride from the top, we will take a rural road to fishing villages, past the colorful ancient burial-ground of Hue. Lunch en route. After lunch, pedal your bike on coastal roads to Thuan An, and then transfer to Hue city center
Day 15: Hue city tour – fly to Hanoi (B/L/D) (25 km)
Ride to visit the Forbidden city, the capital of Vietnam from the 17th-20th centuries, spend an hour to discover the World Heritage Site. Then continue riding on hilly single track trails to the tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty. Fly to Hanoi in the afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi Capital
Day 16: Hanoi city tours (B/L/D) (no cycling)
Spend a whole day exploring the Ha Noi Capital, visit the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Old Quarter of Ha Noi and the Museum of Ethnology. Enjoy the Water Puppet Show in the evening
Day 17: Ha Noi – Ha Long – Ha Noi (B/L/D) (no cycling)
Enjoy 2 and half hours morning driving to Ha Long Bay, the World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. Enjoy a 5 hour boat trip through the Bay, complete with fresh seafood lunch, prepared and served on board. Enjoy swimming and kayaking during the boat trip. Drive back to Ha No in late afternoon.
Day 18: Ha Noi – Departure (B/)
Have breakfast at the hotel, and relax on your own free time until transfer to airport. End of tour
