Biking Saigon to SiemReap 2011. Cycling Vietnam to Cambodia 2011-2012. This ride begins in Saigon and ends in SiemReap. Our first stop in this adventure is Ben Tre province, the birthplace of the ancient "Coconut Religion" (no longer practiced). The Next stop is Tra Vinh, which was once part of Cambodia, before the 17th century. Then, enjoy a boat ride to the floating market in Can Tho, the capital of  Mekong Delta of Vietnam. Stay a night in Chau Doc, a border town before you leave Vietnam for Cambodia by high speed boat. Continue your bike trip in Cambodia,discover Angkor complex before flying home. Vietnam Bike Tours

Day 01: Sai Gon - Tra Vinh (L/D) (45 km)
Transfer 2 hours on the freeway to Rach Mieu bridge where we will cycle through coconut gardens to remote villages. Stop for a coffee break, walk around to meet the locals and witness them in their daily routine. Then continue, by bicycle ,on nice concrete roads to Huong My village where we will have a picnic lunch. After lunch, we cycle on red-dirt roads through the homeland of coconuts to a local boat station where we will cross the Co Chien river. After 30 minutes on the boat, we will cycle another 7 km to the city of Tra Vinh. Overnight in Town.

Day 02: Tra Vinh - Can Tho (B/L/D) (80 km)
Tra Vinh is considered the homeland of the Khmer people, and there are numerous Khmer temples in the province. The local population is around 35% Khmer. In the morning, we will ride to the Ao Ba Om Lake and the temple of her. Your guide will tell you about her interesting story with Khmer men in her past days. Then ride to the rural villages of Khmer, on concrete roads through rice fields. Stop for a visit to Khmer families and take some photos of the Buddhist Theravada temple. Have lunch at Cau Ke town. In the afternoon, get back on your bike and ride to Tra On. Then, keep riding on back roads and cross multiple small rivers by little ferries, heading towards Can Tho city.

Day 03: Can Tho-Long Xuyen (B/L/D) (80 Km)
Have breakfast, check out and go to Cai Rang floating market by boat. See how locals exchange goods from boat to boat on the river. Disembark from your boat and visit another land market where you can find seasonal fruits and vegetables. Then cycle on a dirt track to Thoi Lai, continue cycling on back roads to Co Do for lunch. In the afternoon, cycle through beautiful rice paddies and villages along a network of canals. Stop for a short break at the Bang Lang stork sanctuary. Transfer to Long Xuyen city. Spend the night in Long Xuyen.

Day 04: Long Xuyen - Chau Doc (B/L/D) (90 km)
Today, we cycle through farm lands which were abandoned lands before 1975. Since 1980, Mekong farmers have moved and settled in this land. Witness first-hand how big the rice bowl of Vietnam is. Have a coffee break at a little village by canals. Continue riding to Ba Chuc, the killing fields near the Cambodia border where the red Khmer soldiers killed over three thousand Vietnamese people in 1978. After lunch, ride to the border town of Tinh Bien. Then, cycle to Chau Doc. Stay the last night in Vietnam.

Day 05: Chau Doc-Phnom Penh by high speed boat (B/L/) (no cycling)
It takes 3 and half hours to reach the Vinh Xuong border gate by high speed boat. Continue yout journey by boat upstream of the Mekong river to the capital city of Phnom Penh. You are warmly welcome at the dock in Phnom Penh city and will be taken to your hotel for check in. Enjoy your own free time for shopping in afternoon as well as evening.

Day 06: Phnom Penh-Kampong Chhnang (B/L/D) (90 km)
Cycle on a  dirt track to a Japanese ancient bridge at Udong. Lunch in  the ancient town of Udong. Continue to ride to Kampong Chnang. Overnight in town

Day 07: Kampong Chhnang-Siem Reap (B/L/D) (35 km)
Cross Tonle Sap Lake by boat in the morning. Admire the beauty of Tonle Sap lake and its people living on the water. Visit a floating school, floating and fishing villages on your boat trip. Finish the boat ride at noon, and cycle on back roads to Siem Reap in the afternoon. Enjoy sunset at Angkor Wat.

Day 08: Siem Reap-Banteay Srei-Siem Reap (B/L/D) (64 km)
Cycle through lush jungles to Banteay Srei Temple, the citadel of Women, with superbly intricate reliefs of male and female divinities. Visit the land mine museum on your way back to Siem Reap. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 09: Angkor complex tour (B/L/D) (35 km)
Spend a whole day discovering Angkor Wat by bike, including Angkor Temple, Bayon Temple, and Angkor Thom.

Day 10: Siem Reap Departure (B)
Spend an hour enjoying sunrise at Angkor Wat, then drive back to the hotel for breakfast. Relax on your own free time until we transfer to airport. End of tour.
