Day 01: Sleep a night on train from Hanoi to Lao Cai (D)
A welcome dinner before you get on board for night train to Lao Cai. It takes a round 9 night hours.
Day 02: Lao Cai – Sapa (B/L/) (30 km)
The train arrives at the station of Lao Cai at 5:30 am. Our team will arrange your breakfast at local restaurant, you will have transfer windy uphill to Sapa town. Check in and relax until your cycle riding starting from the hotel at 1:00 pm. Ride on the hilly back roads to Dao villages, past rice terrace paddy fields. We will ride on a dirty track to Ta Phin, stop at Ethnic at village’ market to chit chat with Red Dao. Ride to the high roads for a transfer back to Sapa.
Day 03: Sapa – Ta Vang - Lao Chay – Home-stay (B/L/D) (25 - 45 km)
From the hotel, we ride down hill on beautiful back roads with particular scenery along the country roads. We turn right on concrete path to down hill, past the home of Dao before we cross a river to continue our biking to local market of Ethnic people. Keep cycling through rice fields Tay villages for lunch. In the afternoon, we continue cycling into the home of Red Dao people and stay a night at luxury home-stay.
Day 04: Nam Cang - Sin Chai - Ban Ho – Sapa (B/L/D) (20-45 km)
From home-stay, we ride on smooth path along mountain through some villages of Tay Ethnic. Enjoy scenery on valley along the mountain. Then we follow a trail to explore remote area, corn paddy, many valley of rice terrace and some young jungles forest. Then we continue to ride through forest on hilly dirty track. Lunch en route at the home of Tay Ethnic before the afternoon biking to Ban Ho for a transfer back to Sapa.
Day 05: Sapa - Tan Uyen – Than Uyen (B/L/D) (45-80 km)
A short transfer you up to the gate of heaven pass for a morning ride. Enjoy easy cycling down hill amongst mountain rang along both of roadside. Then we take a small path, ride rolling hill through villages, see buffaloes on farming land by lake. After lunch, a short transfer you to the top, down hill past, tea plantation, corn fields and rubber plantation.
Day 06: Than Uyen – Quynh Nhai (B/L/D) (30 - 80 km)
The back roads for cycling today are almost windy and thoroughly mountainous and jungle area of Son La province. Avoid pedaling uphill by relaxing on A/C van to the top where we start to ride down on back roads along the lake. Lunch en route. A gentle ride rolling hill through villages, cross the lake on new bridge then follow the back road along further of lake to hotel.
Day 07: Quynh Nhai –Tuan Giao – Dien Bien Phu (B/L/D) (45 - 90 km)
There is a quite long distance for you to cycle today. We will cut off some of windy uphill as to choose the best. Departure from you hotel by vehicle, after an hour, your cycling will be continued from the top. Ride to Tuan Giao for lunch. After lunch, we will have another transfer by van/bus you to top as to avoid cycling uphill. Enjoy the scenery of jungle along river to Dien Bien Phu.
Day 08: City by van/bus (B/L/)
Spend a half understand how was the battlefield of Dien Bien Phu going on!. Visit the Museum of Dien Bien Phu, A1 hill and the cemetery of Dien Bien Phu, and the the former military head office of the General De Castries. Then have lunch in town before we back to hotel relax your legs at swimming for along day crossing Vietnam border to Laos.
Day 09: Dien Bien Phu – Muang Khua (B/L/D) (20 - 60 km)
Early morning transfer you to Tay Trang border for checking visa application to overland in Laos. By this time, our team and bikes are available on roadside. 20 km smooth road downhill allows you to texting your riding skills on the back roads of mountainous country. We will stop at Mong village before your lunch lunch at small town. Then we have 10 km uphill for anther 30 km moderate on hilly back roads, past rice paddy fields along Nam Ou River to Muang Khua.
Day 10: Muang Khua – Park Dom - Oudomxai (B/L/D) (45 - 80 km)
Today we ride down hill through rubber tree plantation, teak tree plantation and jungle forest in the morning. In the afternoon, we will take an easy riding past beautiful rice fields, mountainous scenery by river.
Day 11: Odomxai – Park Mong- Nong khiaw (B/L/D) (35 - 70 km)
To avoid many big hills, we will have a transfer to the top for moderate biking through jungle. Ride past villages of ethnic people, stop and find out where plenty of wild animals’ meat selling on roadside. Stop for lunch at Park Dom. From the fork/T-junction of Park Dom, the cycle route to Nong Kiaw is the best. With moderate hilly back roads, past local markets, rice terrace paddy fields and scenery along River bank and limestone mountains allows you challenge your biking all the way to the Cave by the stream. Then cycle to hotel for a night.
Day 12: Nongkhiaw - Park Mong – Luang Prabang (B/L/D) (40 - 70 km)
We start to ride from the top after an hour vehicle transfer from Nong Kiaw. Sharing the roads with kids riding bicycle with umbrella, pending time on smooth road along river to Luang Prabang. Have a 20 km vehicle transfer to city center to avoid traffic.
Day 13: City tour by van/bus – Countryside bike tour in afternoon (B/L/) (30 km)
Share space with local on ferry to further of Mekong River, explore local life on dirty track, and bike into countryside’ village and have a transfer back to Luang Prabang in late afternoon.
Day 14: Luang Prabang depart (B/)
Free to explore the town and spend your time on shopping until a transfer to airport for home. Tour End!
